Lara Deutsch
**Lara was named "Young Business Woman of the Year" in the Business category by influential YEN Magazine at a red carpet event in Sydney, Australia. Delighted with the win she says "It makes all the hard work and sacrifice feel worth it and that there was a good reason I had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for 12 years if it lead me here. To be recognized for my passion is amazing.” **
From an early age Lara Deutsch, co-founder of Stem Organics, always had an entrepreneurial drive and sense of spirit. Naturally creative, organised and determined, Lara’s strive for success was self-evident. Early childhood enterprises motivated Lara, which led her to study business later on in life. However, aged 16, Lara’s life took an unexpected turn when diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. At its worst, this unexplained illness prevented Lara from being able to continue living a normal life.
When traditional doctors failed to find a solution, Lara turned to natural therapies and organics. A chance meeting with a woman who created her own natural skincare range was the catalyst that inspired Lara to form Stem Organics.
Years of researching the benefits of natural and organic skincare and working in conjunction with cosmetics chemists specialising in organic ingredients led Lara to create a holistic approach to skin, life and health, the vision that is Stem Organics.
Fourteen years on from first being diagnosed, Lara’s health has greatly improved, but she’s extremely aware on how to best look after oneself. Through her personal health battle, she has discovered one’s energy is best spent on what you truly care about. Because everything you touch, or that touches you, matters.

Many in the industry agree that the perception of Australia and New Zealand as healthy is a big plus for organic and natural lines.
“I think natural products from Australia and New Zealand have a great image, because both of the countries [are seen as having] a great green image internationally,” says Lara Deutsch, the co-founder of Melbourne’s Stem Organics.
“Botanical ingredients clearly pique the interest of consumers and commercial buyers abroad. “The fact that there’s a lot of unique ingredients coming out of Australia that are getting attention on the world scale, I think is bringing focus to Australia and New Zealand,” says Deutsch.
